Policies

Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, which I am required by law to report  to the appropriate authorities.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist his or her cooperation in insuring safety. If the client does not cooperate, I will take further measures without his or her permission  in order to ensure safety.

I will release information to your insurance company if you sign the authorization form.

Cancelled & Missed Appointments Policy

Please cancel appointments no less than twenty-four hours prior to the appointment time. If you do not give twenty-four hours notice and another client does not take your appointment time, you will be charged your regular fee. Illness and other situations beyond your control will be given due consideration on a case-by-case basis.

Payment Policy

Payment is expected at the time of the appointment. Checks, cash and most credit cards are accepted.
